Car rental Bari Port
Bari is a dominant town in the Apulia region, next to the Adriatic Sea in southern Italy. It is the second most important economic center in southern Italy after Naples and the third after Palermo. It is a port and university city, as well as the city of St. Nicholas. The city itself has more than 300,000 inhabitants. The metropolitan area has a population of 1.3 million.
When visiting the city, you can see many attractions. Examples include the Margherita or Piccinni theaters, or the Botanical Gardens (full name: Orto Botanico dell’Università di Bari). It is also home to a music conservatory. The church of St. Teresa, built in the Baroque style in the late 1600s, is also worth a visit.
Bari has two seaports: the old port and the new port, built in 1850. What is definitely worth mentioning is the St. Nicholas Basilica, the foundations of which were laid in 1087. The church is one of the four palatine churches of Apulia. The others are the cathedrals of Acquaviva delle Fonti and Altamura, as well as the church of Monte Sant’Angelo sul Gargano.
The Bari Cathedral is also worth mentioning. The Bari Cathedral, dedicated to St. Sabinus of San Jose, was first built in Byzantine style in 1034 and later in Baroque style.
Also worth a visit are the Petruzzelli Theater, the Swabian Castle, the Pinacoteca Provinciale di Bari, an important art gallery. As well as the Russian Church of St. Nicholas and Barivecchia, also known as the Old Town of Bari.
